BCHS Homecoming 2019

 Once football season starts, next is Homecoming. The BCHS Football Homecoming for 2019 took place on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Trojan Field. This occasion was hosted by The Pep Club directed by Teresa Bewley and Ruth Ann Gumm.


The homecoming court anticipated the exciting homecoming events.


Tasanee Saltsman, Green Team Homecoming Candidate, said, ”It feels overwhelming, I’ve never done anything like this before.” 


Some of the girls, like Saltsman, had not participated in homecoming before, but the returning girls expressed enthusiasm for another year of participation. 


Olivia Stice, sophomore, a returning candidate from Pep Club said, ”I’m pretty excited because my favorite part is getting to look for a dress, finding an escort, and looking for shoes.”


The complete list of candidates was as follows: Veah Cowles-Band, Carli Clifford-Beta, Kaity Martin-Broadcasting, Kayleigh Smith-Best Buddies, Chloe Watson-Cheer, Grace Butler-Dance Team, Bayley Hammer-Drama, Marlie Shirley-FBLA, Katie Harper-FCCLA, Bethany Glass-FCA, Sarah Sneed-FFA, Chyrston Jones-Foreign Language, Tasanee Saltsman-Green Team, DJ Dillon-HOSA, Jesse Hatcher-JROTC, Makaylee Cross-SADD, Allie Ward-Travel Club, Lilly Shipley-Y Club, Elizabeth Bertram-Yearbook, Summer Adwell-Pep Club, Olivia Stice-Pep Club, Ally Newberry-Pep Club, Leah Jesse-Pep Club, Kennedy Sutherland-Fall Sports, Ann Benning Jones-Fall Sports, Maylin Newberry-Fall Sports, and Micah Birrell-Fall Sports.


Before the homecoming game, the candidates and their escorts practiced at the field on Thursday. Then they were announced at the pep rally friday morning.

At homecoming, Grace Butler was crowned Homecoming Queen by Kathy Silab, 2018 Queen. Seth Hagan was crowned as King. The runner-up was Sarah Sneed and runner-up for King was Kaden Murray.

Butler said, “ I was really overwhelmed to be crowned queen, because I didn’t think I had a lot of support from any people. Except the Dance Team. It really just showed me how blessed I was to be in this position.”
