SBDM confirmed the Military Ball, Fall Formal dance and discussed new achievements at BCHS
This week the SBDM Council confirmed the dates for the eighth annual Military Ball and Fall Formal information. The council also discussed many achievements by students and teachers.
The Military Ball will be held on March 21, 2020 from 5:00 to 11:00 P.M. Fall Formal will be held on Nov. 16 from 8:00 to 11:30 P.M.
The girls soccer team are the champions of the 15th District Soccer Tournament. The All District team consists of Brynn Martin and Leah Jessee and the tournament MVP was Emma Hughes. The boys soccer team were the district runner up of the tournament. The All District team consists of Cody Lane and Seth Mitchell.
Sharon Mattingly was awarded the Kentucky World Language Lifetime Achievement award.
The Glasgow Daily Times awarded Warren Cunningham as best coach by local votes. Todd Steenbergen was also awarded as runner up for the best teacher award.
The BCHS state test scores were released, with an overall three star rating and overall score of 67.4 and BCHS will continue to use the CERT program to help improve student testing.
Amy Irwin discussed the Agriculture Department partnering with the culinary group at BCHS and Sustainable Glasgow to host their annual hog roast.
“It was huge, we’ve done it for years,” Amy Irwin said. “It’s like a tradition.”
The council discussed that the partnership between the BCHS departments and Sustainable Glasgow will continue because of the positive outcome of the community.
“Over 500 people attended,” Irwin said. “The line continued for about an hour and a half.”
The BCHS SBDM council next monthly meeting will be held on Nov. 11.
