SBDM continues search for new principal, approves PD plan

The search continues for a principal at Barren County High School.

In Thursday’s special-called session of the Barren County High School Site Based Decision Making Council, the council was primarily in closed session.

The council approved the 2019-2020 BCHS professional development plan.

According to the plan obtained by the Trojan Times, staff members are required to complete 24 hours of development credit.

Professional development days are set for Aug. 6, 7 and 8 this year.

Staff will undergo ACT analysis activities, Google Training certification, activities related to new standards, assessments and transition readiness.

No action was taken during Thursday’s meeting, according to Superintendent Bo Matthews.

The council is scheduled to meet in closed session at the Barren County Board of Education on May 6 at 2:30 p.m. to further discuss principal applicants.
