Barren County High School graduation has been tentatively set for Friday, May 17, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
The date is unofficial due to the chance of inclement weather. If weather issues arise, the school district will use iLearn at Home days to remedy the lost instruction time. These dates will not affect graduation, according to Principal Brad Johnson.
“I feel like there is a 95 percent chance that graduation will be Friday at 7:30,” Johnson said.
If other issues form that would prohibit the district from using iLearn at Home days, the graduation date could be altered.
“If we had to miss a day of school, that would put graduation on Monday or Tuesday of the next week,” Johnson said.
Currently, plans are on hold. Announcements and other date-specific material has not been ordered.
Johnson said, “graduation should be set, for sure, by three weeks from now.”
If the tentative date is upheld, seniors’ last day will consist of Senior Breakfast, a class photo and graduation practice. Unlike some years, this year is scheduled to be a full day for seniors.
More information will be made available when a graduation date is set.
